Cuewell is built so that as little as possible leaves your PC, and as little as possible stays with us. This page explains what goes where.
On your PC
Your settings, CV, notes, knowledge files and saved sessions (transcripts and answers) are stored on your own computer, in your Windows user folder. We can't see them. You can delete them at any time, and uninstalling the app doesn't send anything to us.
When you ask for an answer
To write an answer, the app sends our server the recent part of the transcript, the notes and CV text you added, and your instructions, over an encrypted connection. Our server passes them to an AI model provider, which writes the answer and sends it back.
Our server doesn't keep the content. It stores only what it needs to run credits: your access key, how many answers each session has used, how many credits you've used, and the app version you're running.
Transcription
Depending on your settings and your version of Windows, the call audio is turned into text in one of three ways:
- On your PC, by a speech model that ships with the app. Nothing leaves your computer.
- By Windows' built-in captions, which run on your PC.
- By a cloud transcription service, if your plan includes it. The call audio is streamed over an encrypted connection to a speech-to-text provider, which returns the text. Only the audio the call plays (what you hear) is sent, not your microphone, and only while a session is running.
Telegram
If you connect Telegram, answers you choose to send go through Telegram to your own account. Your Telegram sign-in is stored on your PC, not with us.
When you buy
Payments are handled by our payment provider. We receive your name, email address, country and what you bought, so we can send your key and handle refunds. We never see your full card details.
Who else handles data
We use a small number of service providers to run Cuewell: a cloud hosting provider for our server, an AI model provider for answers, a speech-to-text provider for cloud transcription, our payment provider, and our email provider. They process data only to provide their service to us. Some of them are outside your country; where the law requires it, we rely on the standard safeguards for those transfers.
We don't sell your data, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't use your content to train AI models.
This website
This site doesn't use cookies, analytics or tracking. The fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google when the page loads.
How long we keep things
Per-session answer counts are deleted automatically after a while. Purchase records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Your access key and credit count are kept while your key is active; ask us and we'll delete them.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email support@cuewell.cc from the address you bought with. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Cuewell isn't meant for anyone under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top, and we'll email you if the change is significant.
